FIVE EURO NCAP STARS FOR DS 3 CROSSBACK

Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme), the independent body that assesses the safety of new cars, has given its maximum rating of five stars to DS 3 CROSSBACK which is equipped as standard with the Safety Pack  (that includes Active Safety Brake).

Thanks to its innovative technology, unprecedented in the segment, DS 3 CROSSBACK earned the maximum score of five stars in all four Euro NCAP test categories: protection of adult occupants, protection of child occupants, protection of vulnerable road users, and safety assist.

The Euro NCAP rating system, revised in 2018, now ranks DS 3 CROSSBACK as a benchmark in its segment.

An icon of high-tech style, DS 3 CROSSBACK passed the Euro NCAP test with flying colours. Its demonstration of refinement and technology, both highly valued by DS, also contribute to optimal safety, both active and passive, for occupants as well as other road users.

Featuring equipment new to the segment, DS 3 CROSSBACK has set records since the introduction of the new Euro NCAP tests in 2018. It is the sole Premium B-SUV model to exceed the scores of 96% for protection of adult occupants, 86% for protection of child occupants, and 76% for safety assist. The protection of adult occupants score of 96% is also a new benchmark among French cars, all segments combined.

As the standard equipment for the entire range, DS 3 CROSSBACK is available with the emergency brake assist system (Active Safety Brake) functioning at speeds of up to 53mph (85kph), lane keeping assist and speed limit sign recognition. Further equipment is available depending on trim level and customisation, such as emergency braking up to 87mph (140kph) with vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist recognition, active blind spot monitoring, DS MATRIX LED VISION, extended speed limit recognition, DS DRIVE ASSIST, a level-two semi-autonomous driving system.

Euro NCAP tests involve a series of front and side crash tests at speeds of up to 40mph (64kph) on impact, that serve to assess the safety level of vehicles by observing the damage observed on dummies. The driver assistance systems are examined by means of evaluation using robots that simulate the behaviour of other road users.

DS 7 CROSSBACK, launched last year, also received the maximum five-star score.
